Taylor
Swift is just like any other American - aside from her 10 Grammy awards,
40 million albums sold and 80 million Twitter followers.
Her
storybook show biz career aside, the We Are Never Ever Getting Back
Together singer on Monday was front-and-center to serve jury duty in her
native Nashville, Tennessee, making a memorable experience for her
fellow jurors.
The
Shake It Off singer, who was a major topic of discussion at New York
City's Madison Square Garden during Sunday night's MTV Video Music
Awards - despite not being there - was gracious to fans, as she took
selfies, signed autographs and flashed the girl next door charm that's
made her on the music's most enduring acts over the past decade.

Priceless memory: Taylor posed for a selfie with fellow juror Tracy Bates
Fellow
juror Tracy Bates, under the handle @TracysActivism, posted a number of
shots of the Blank Space singer, who was smiling and affable with her
Music City peers.
She
uploaded a clip in which Taylor listened intently as a fellow juror
told her how coincidental and surreal her presence there was, as her
children had been singing Swift's songs earlier in the morning.
Nashville star: The beauty, 26, looked fresh and rested Monday after skipping the VMAs from NYC
News maker: Despite not even being in
the building, there was plenty of scuttlebutt about Taylor in the wake
of comments made by Kanye West - and thanks NOT given by her ex Calvin
Harris, as she helped write a song he won an award for
Of
course, the talk about Taylor Monday wasn't confined to Nashville
courthouses, as the singer was a hot topic following the VMAs linked to
two other entertainers.
Her
ex-boyfriend D.J. Calvin Harris notably didn't thank her when he
captured the Best Male Video award for This Is What You Came For, a song
Taylor helped write under a pseudonym during the year-plus they dated.
Harris, who was touring in Britain and not at MSG for the live event,
sent his regards in a video he recorded, thanking Rihanna, who also
performed on the track.
Harris,
who dated Swift for 15 months until they split in June, said in his
speech: 'Thanks, Rihanna, from the bottom of my heart. You’re a
superstar.'
Fan-friendly: The 10-time Grammy winner posed for selfies with her fellow jurors
And
Kanye West, who infamously interrupted Taylor speech at the very same
event in 2009, referenced the run-in, as he said: 'Now later tonight [my
video] Famous' might lose to Beyonce but I can't be mad. I'm always
wishing for Beyonce to win.'
He
later nodded the fallout of his conversation with Swift over his track
Famous, which resulted in more controversy between the duo and an
embarrassing career footnote for Swift.
'People come up to me like, "Man, that's right, take Taylor down" - bro, I love all of y’all. That’s why I called her,' he said.
